Bitch " by Meredith Brooks was mistaken by just about everyone as being an Alanis Morissette song." Don't Shut Me Out " by Kevin Paige was commonly mistaken as being a George Michael song thanks to their similar singing style.Regina's physical appearance and singing voice having a striking resemblance to an early Madonna to the point of being a Suspiciously Similar Substitute didn't help. " Baby Love " by Regina was commonly mistaken as being from Madonna, even though it was released as Madge was abandoning this sound to go in a more artistically experimental direction. Many one-hit wonders from the pre-Internet era fell victim to this trope, as they were never able to make a real name for themselves thanks to their first big hit being mistaken by most casual listeners as from being from a bigger name artist.General theme page to steal, uhm, make that, eh, sample. You can make your creative dreams come true!īook a Creative Oasis Clarity Call with me this week to learn how.
